HUAWEI Mate X6 : Huawei is releasing a new foldable phone for the global market, which includes Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, after making news with the first double folding phone in history, which is only available in China.

Unfortunately, for tech enthusiasts like myself, this is “just” a standard foldable phone that related a book and bends only once.
Google excelled in a number of areas with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, OnePlus crushed it with the amazing OnePlus Open Apex Edition, Honor seemed to defy physics with its incredibly thin Magic V3, and Samsung once again brushed off calls for a major overhaul of its Z Fold series.[HUAWEI Mate X6]
Yes, there was a Vivo foldable, but I was unable to test it out. However, I’ve heard that’s also very good.
You most likely have a lot of questions. Does it perform as well as the phones I just described? Where can I purchase it and how much does it cost? Before buying a Huawei phone, what should you know about them?
Specs And Pricing
The phone has 7.93-inch LTPO foldable 120Hz OLED with 10-bit color depth and HDR compatibility serves as its foundation. A typical 6.45-inch LTPO OLED with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 1080p resolution is used for the cover screen.

The new Kirin 9020 chipset, which is an upgrade over the Kirin 9010 in the Pura 70 series, serves as the foundation for the Mate X6.[HUAWEI Mate X6]
The Mate 70 phones are powered by the same one. The Mate X6 is only offered in 512GB + 12GB RAM configuration in international countries.
A 50MP OIS primary with variable opening lens, a 48MP OIS 4x telephoto with up to 10x high quality zoom, and a 48MP AF ultrawide make up the promising triple camera system on the rear. 8MP sensors are used by the two selfie cameras.
The Mate X6’s 5,110mAh Si/C battery supports both wired and wireless reverse charging in addition to rapid wired and wireless charging.[HUAWEI Mate X6]
At last, the Mate X6 comes with HarmonyOS 4.3, or more accurately, EMUI 15 as it is known outside.
Unboxing The Mate X6

Like the Huawei Mate series, the Mate X6 comes in a large black box. The package includes a SIM ejection tool, a protected two-piece case, a 66W charger, and a suitable USB cord.
HUAWEI Mate X6 Design, build quality, handling
With its incredibly slim form, huge camera island, and immersive screens, the Huawei Mate X6 is a visually stunning handset.
The Mate X6 has an IPX8 water resistance rating, meaning it can survive for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 2 meters in still water. Sand and dust continue to be major no-nos for this kind of phone.[HUAWEI Mate X6]
The Mate X6’s hinge and chassis are made of aluminum. Huawei asserts that its aerospace-grade aluminum is 37% stronger than standard 6-series aluminum.
Second-generation Kunlun glass with enhanced drop resistance makes up the front glass panels.
Our Nebula Gray review unit’s rear panel is composed of vegan fiber, according to Huawei. It has considerable texture and is matte. Additionally, there are models in Nebula Red and Black with an eco-leather finish.
The Mate X6 boasts a distinctly better design than other well-known foldables, including as the Galaxy Z Fold6 and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which may convert into a better handling experience.[HUAWEI Mate X6]
The cover screen features a small, central selfie camera punch hole and attractively slim bezels. The monitor features a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an enhanced 1080p resolution. Above this screen is a virtually imperceptible earpiece.
With a nearly 1:1 ratio, the foldable inner display is as immersive as they get. It features the typical thin film protection and plastic framing that you can’t remove. The 8MP interior camera has a tiny perforation in the upper right corner.
You can feel the wrinkle, even if it is not really noticeable or large.

Three main cameras, laser sensors, and a dual-LED flash are all housed in a sizable camera island on the rear. The phone wobbles because of the large, thick object
The Huawei Mate X6 has an excellent grip and is quite comfortable to use. The large camera island is the only thing we didn’t enjoy, but if the image quality lives up to the hype, it will be worthwhile.[HUAWEI Mate X6 Review]
Performance and benchmarks
Huawei’s new Kirin 9020 chipset powers the Mate X6. Within the Pure 70 series, it is an enhanced Kirin 9010 variant.
One 2.5 GHz Taishan Big, three 2.15 GHz Taishan Mid, and four 1.53 GHz Cortex-A510 cores make up the Kirin 9020’s eight core CPU.
It is produced on a 7nm SMIC node, referred to as N+2 in China, which is the same as the Kirin 9000s found in the Mate 60 series. The HiSilicon Maleoon 920 GPU is also included.
In China, the Huawei Mate X6 has 1TB of UFS storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Ours is the only variant that will be offered in international markets, and it has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
When compared to the Kirin 9010, the Kirin 9020 within the Mate X6 exhibits a discernible increase in CPU performance. Although it has good Geekbench and AnTuTu scores, its GPU performance is still considered to be in the middle range.[HUAWEI Mate X6]
